Jenny Amphlett

A journalist for 25 years, Jenny Amphlett has worked for newspapers including The Sentinel, The Shropshire Star and The Stafford Post and edited a string of Midlands magazines including Staffordshire Life, The Journal, Staffordshire County Magazine, The North Staffordshire Magazine, Birmingham Life, Shropshire Life, West Midlands Life, Warwickshire Life and Herefordshire and Worcestershire Life.

She was named Columnist of the Year at the O2 Media Awards 2019 and Feature Writer of the Year at the O2 Media Awards 2015. An experienced events organiser, Jenny has organised the Our Heroes Awards, Sentinel Business Awards, City of Stoke-on-Trent Sports Awards, Moorlands Heroes Awards and A Proper Stokie Christmas.

Now based within Staffordshire University’s Communities and Commercial Engagement Team her remit also includes the Made in Stoke-on-Trent diaspora network.

Martin Tideswell

Experienced in communications, marketing and events professional with a 30-year background in journalism, Martin Tideswell has worked across the regional press and national newspapers as well as local radio and regional television. He has worked across a host of specialisms - from news, sport, business and feature writing to public relations, Martin became the first local Editor of The Sentinel newspaper in more than 40 years and then had the privilege of working for the Port Vale Football Club where he oversaw media, commercial and community functions. 

Now working at Staffordshire University, Martin oversees the team which looks after the vast alumni family, works in an ambassadorial role, creates new revenue streams and oversee and hosts many positive brand events.

Martin is a DnD nerd, Honorary Doctor, and devoted to supporting the mental health of anyone who needs it.
